Automotive Emission Catalyst Units Production Facility

Automotive Emission Catalyst Units Production Facility

The Automotive Emission Catalyst Units Production Facility of UEIP was established under a license of the American Engelhard Corporation in 1994.

The manufacturing process incorporates application of the platinum group catalytic coating to a ready-made ceramic or metal substrate.

The advanced process equipment makes possible accurate preparation of the specified composition catalytic coating which would meet requirements of the most exacting customer. The unique slurry preparation equipment allows reproduction of the most complex catalyst formulations.

The automated coating application line ensures reproducibility of the required active layer uniformity and thickness. Each catalyst unit complete data set is stored in the computer memory and can be received any time.

The analytical laboratory is equipped with advanced instruments and devices including HORIBA automated catalyst activity test system, ARL 848OS x-ray fluorescence atomic adsorption spectrometer, ASAP 2400 high rate analyser, OPTIMA-300 inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer, PHILIPS x-ray inspection machine, etc. The engine and chassis dynamometer tests can also be performed at the facility.

The facility possesses high research, engineering and production potentialities. It can either directly contact the car manufacturers and participate in the new catalyst formulations development with subsequent testing of the product or manufacture customer formulated catalyst units under separate orders.

As a result of fruitful co-operation with AvtoVAZ a domestic converter has been developed, which outperforms the foreign ones.

Similar activities with other Russian car manufacturers are under way.
