Microorganisms are a considerable problem in the flow processes demanding sterility. Being live organisms, they are capable to breed and, even some such organisms which have got to a sterile stage of process, can cause the big damage, having lowered a quality of product or in general having made its unsuitable to use.

One of sources infection a product is atmospheric or technological air. The basic way of sterilisation of air - removal of microorganisms (live aerosol corpuscles) filtration.

Microorganisms name a bacterium, viruses and bacteriophages. Sizes of bacteria - from 0,2 to 4 microns, viruses - not less than 0,3 microns, and bacteriophages can have a size less than 0,01 microns. The usual filters intended for removal of firm pollution, oils or waters, are not capable to delete microorganisms effectively. If sterility is necessary - there is no alternative to sterilising filters.

Use of filters of one type cannot solve a problem since macroporous the filter will pass small corpuscles, and finishing - will sweepingly be hammered.

Not less often than an once in some days the finishing filter and an equipment part should be exposed to sterilisation for destruction of vegetative and sporous microorganisms. Sterilisation, as a rule, is spent by gaseous steam at temperature from 120 ºC. It attains full machining of the filter, connecting pipes and adapters.

Steam too should be cleared the special filters, capable to detain a corpuscle a size from 1 to 20 microns.

The minimum circuit design of preparation of is sterile pure air, thus, contains:

- Not less than two (consistently) filters for preliminary clearing of oil, a moisture and mechanical impurity;

In some cases, in the core for martempering organoleptic properties of cleared gas, use adsorption (for example, coal) filters.
